Haunted bed

Contact ASSAP's Investigations Department here.

Not just ghosts

Inevitably many ASSAP investigations involve ghosts. The reason for this is that hauntings recur at a specific location. Therefore, (a) you might get lucky and experience something yourself and (b) you can see if there is anything remarkable about the location.

We do also investigate anything weird like fish falls, UFOs, alien animals, weeping statues, etc. See the ASSAP FAQ for a full list of subjects covered.

The department is run by the National Investigations Co-ordinator (NIC) with the assistance of a deputy (primarily responsible for the AAI training programme).

Investigations Initiatives

  • If you wish to report a case to ASSAP for investigation, follow this link.
  • The department runs a training programme, including a weekend course, for investigators
  • Investigators can borrow equipment from a central collection for their cases (see members area for details)
  • We organise vigils for investigators at reputedly haunted locations - these are open to AAIs and other members
  • There is a prize, the Michael Bentine Memorial Shield, that is awarded annually for the best case report submitted
  • Case reports are stored in our archives for the benefit of the research community.
